Automatic roller shutters fall into two groups. Galvanised steel shutters offer high resistance to impact and blasts and are chosen where security comes first. Aluminium shutters are chosen where appearance matters most; with polyurethane-filled profiles, resistance increases and thermal and sound insulation improve.

From survey to handover
STEPS TO BE CONFIRMED WITH THE COMPANY- 01Survey and measurementThe opening, ceiling space and power supply are assessed.
- 02Material selectionGalvanised or aluminium, colour and motor are chosen.
- 03Box and guidesThe shutter box and side guides are installed.
- 04Curtain and motorThe slat curtain is fitted and the motor connected.
- 05Testing and handoverLimit settings and the remote control are tested.

Should I choose galvanised steel or aluminium?
If security comes first, galvanised steel; it is more resistant to impact and blasts. If appearance comes first, aluminium is preferred.
What does polyurethane filling add?
Polyurethane-filled aluminium shutters are more resistant and give better thermal and sound insulation.
Motorised or manual?
For wide entrances opened often, a motorised system is easier to use. For small openings a manual system may be enough.
Can a motorised shutter be opened during a power cut?
Motorised shutters have a manual override, so they can be opened and closed during a power cut.
What does a window roller shutter do?
An aluminium roller shutter controls sun and light and adds security and insulation to the window. It can be motorised or manual.
What colours are available?
Aluminium shutters can be produced in a range of painted colours. We show samples during the survey.
